MUED 3250 - Marching and Jazz Methods

This course examines basic pedagogical principles for jazz and marching band. Students will study core repertoire for big band and jazz combo ensembles, concepts of appropriate musical style, and the teaching of basic improvisation. Students will also study marching show design principles, computer-assisted show design techniques, and basic pedagogy for teaching marching fundamentals and managing a colorguard.

Prerequisites: MUED 1305, admission as music major, or permission of instructor.
