A pre-approved and supervised work and/or research experience designed to supplement academic training. Student works or performs research under the supervision of professionals in a private or public agency/institution appropriate to the student’s chosen career field. Examples may include but are not limited to an internship in a company, Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU), or a similar research experience in an institution of higher learning or in a lab. This course provides students with an opportunity to obtain practical training in a field closely related to the field of their future employment or intended graduate degree.
