    Students in this course will use a number of contemporary tools for information management, collaboration, media production, publication, networking and communication.   • CRJS 1321 - Criminal Investigation

    Students will learn to recognize the relevant components of a successful and ethical criminal investigation and to classify and summarize evidentiary procedure for several different types of investigations.     This course provides an analysis of major correctional systems; their objectives and programs as they relate to the rehabilitation of offenders. This course seeks to provide students with an analysis and evaluation of contemporary correctional systems.   • CRIM 3325 - Wrongfully Convicted

    This course is required for criminology majors and minors. This course addresses criminology from a unique angle by examining what happens when the criminal justice system gets it wrong. Students are introduced to the considerable number of individuals who have been exonerated of crimes that they did not commit. These cases suggest many issues that will be covered, some of which are coerced confessions, questionable eyewitness testimony, faulty forensic work, and poor legal advice.

    This course is an analysis of the criminal behavior of social elites. Rather than crimes of individuals, the primary focus of this course is on the crimes of organizations such as political corruption, corporate crimes against consumers, workers, and the environment, and state crimes of foreign policy. The crimes of powerful individuals will be studied in the context of their positioning within powerful organizations.

    This course presents and applies International Monetary theory to recent events and current policy issues. The theory presented in this course covers a broad range of topics including exchange rate determination, monetary and fiscal policy in an open economy (that is, an economy that trades goods and assets with the rest of the world), balance of payment crises, the choice of exchange rate systems and their advantages and disadvantages, currency unions and international debt. The insights provided by these theoretical frameworks will enable the class to discuss topics such as the US current account deficit, the single currency in Europe, the Asian and Latin American financial crises, global finance imbalances, government intervention in the foreign exchange market and the role of international factors on a nation’s employment, wage and economic performance.
