This course focuses on the acquisition of materials and the delivery processes. Special emphasis is on decision making that aligns the supplier network and the acquisition and delivery processes with organizational goals and strategies to ensure short- and long-term value for funds spent. Supply Chain Management (SCM) includes various topics such as: Purchasing/Procurement, Sourcing (global and domestic), Supplier Relationships, Logistics/Transportation, Inventory Management, Contract Management and Negotiation, Information Systems, Cost Management, and Trends. Exposure to technical software will enable students to develop competencies in SCM.
